Aspen Leaf Assisted Living Residence is committed to ensuring our website is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We strive to provide a digital experience that is inclusive, welcoming, and easy to use.
Our Commitment
Our target for this website is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. In September 2026 we audited every page against that standard — with automated testing, a keyboard-only walkthrough and a screen-reader check — and fixed what it found in the site's own code.
Some content we embed comes from other companies — the Google map on each location page, Google reviews, and posts from our Facebook page — and its accessibility is theirs to maintain. Because of that third-party content we describe the site as partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA: our own pages meet the standard, and everything is also available by phone.
What We've Done
Our website includes:
- Semantic HTML with landmarks and a logical heading order on every page
- A “Skip to main content” link as the first stop for keyboard users
- Full keyboard operation of the menus, photo galleries, review carousel and chat, with a visible focus indicator throughout
- Color contrast that meets WCAG AA for text and form controls
- Descriptive alt text on photographs, with decorative images hidden from screen readers
- Text sized in relative units, so your browser’s text-size setting is respected
- Form labels, required-field markers and error messages that assistive technology announces
- Reduced motion honoured: animations and the review carousel stop when your device asks for less motion
- Our family brochure available as a web page and as a tagged PDF with a document title, language and image descriptions

Accessibility is not a one-time project — it's an ongoing commitment. We regularly review and improve our site to enhance the experience for all users.
